Nick’s Cardinal Virtue (2/4/19)
Nick’s cardinal virtue is that he is one of the few honest people he has ever known. The events in the book in a way support Nicks claim he hasn’t lied to anyone but he hold in the truth of how he thinks of others. For example Nick doesn’t like Tom he thinks of him as an arrogant person but still is around him and keeps his personal opinions to himself unless he is asked them. Nick is honest when he has to answer a question and he’s honest on his opinions of each individual he meets even if he doesn’t say it to them personally. In my opinion Nick isn’t trying to make himself look good bu saying he is one of the few honest people he’s met but he thinks that due to what he says and acts he’s being truthful.
