Breaking the Law
It’s wrong to break the law when it’s something bad mainly all the time. Especially when it involves hurting others in any way whether it’s mentally or physically. To me it’s fine to break the law when it’s to better yourself but in a way that doesn’t hurt others or get you in a lot of trouble. Or when a law is violating your personal or private life.

Story of My Life
If I could turn any moment of my life into a short story I would choose the day that something that I will never forget. There are many moments and many things that I know I won’t forget but by far the most important is last year during winter break because my family from Oregon finally came to see Santa Maria. My cousin Ruben who is slowly losing his eye sight wanted to see it before he completely lost it. Now he can see blurry but he’s very smart and likes to be independent he learned sign language to speak to one of his friends and he got accepted into all 10 colleges he applied for. Like his parents we’re all proud of him and they even made a new report on him. We all had a good time here we showed him everything and he enjoyed tricking us with math problems since he’s good at math. That’s something I would like to write a short story on.

So This Guy Goes for a Walk
I believe that Ray Bradbury wrote the pedestrian because he wanted to describe or in a way tell readers how the future may be. In this short story he says that people were in their homes consumed by their electronics and because of that not many people went on walks. It was so unusual that he got stopped by a police car which was automatic in a way. He wrote this based on the fact that he got stopped one night while he was walking. Just like in the short story he told the cop that he was just going on a walk like he does everyday. In the short story the cop questions him by thinking it is highly unusual for a man to not have a wife or own technology and is just on his usual walk that he had done for years and years.

In Thoreau’s Word
1.” It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see”
In my opinion this means that you can look or view something good or badly at first glance but once you know that person your view on him/her is very different from how you viewed it that first time. Others may view a person you care about very differently than how you see them because you know them and they can’t see how your person truly is.
2. “ Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth”
To me this means the truth is much more valued than anything in the world because the truth is something all of us want to know even if it may hurt us it’s better than being lied to. Any person would want to know the truth of anything rather than have everything in the world and never knowing the truth.
3. “Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves”
When we’re alone just thinking we begin to go over our lives and think about what we may want in the future or what we want to accomplish in a certain amount of time. When we’re alone we like to think or just space out and have time to be alone with no one to bother you.

Emerson’s Essay
Emerson’s Self Relience talked about believing in ones self and doing things that we want not what others expect from us. In the title, Self Relience, to me shows that we should depend on ourselves to make the choices that we want. In life many people will want u Tom be one way or act a certain way but to believe that you can do anything you want. Emerson has a strong idea in his essay he doesn’t care if we agree with him or not he is speaking his mind throughout the whole essay.
The overall meaning of the essay to me is to be you and to not be just like everyone else because that isn’t really you. You shouldn’t try to fit into a crowd of people and be who they want you to be. You should be your own person and be okay with who you are don’t hide behind something that you don’t want to be. You can stand out and speak your mind because someone might take your idea. “ Emerson said, “Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist.” This means a man/woman shouldn’t be or fit an idea of everyone thinks. They do what they want and don’t fit a stereotype that everyone expects them to. For example a teenager is expected to be lazy, rebellious and to be very irresponsible but many teens have jobs and help support their families and want to be something in life. We all should be ourselves and not follow everyone and want to be a certain way.
To me Emerson was very good at writing this essay because he had an idea of what he wanted and wrote down what he believed everyone should be who they want to be. Many people let others tell them how they should be or act when in fact the only persons opinion that should matter is yours because overall you act the way you want to act because it’s your life. Emerson was himself in writing the essay because he didn’t care what would happen or who would judge him for it.
